I can’t believe I haven’t written about the Olympics just yet, but between air Maroney, Gabby Douglas, Aly Raisman’s parents, women’s volleyball, the SWIMMERS, judo?, and of course, table tennis, I am glued to the tv! I was especially happy tonight to see the U.S Women’s Soccer team bring home a gold in their World Cup rematch vs. Japan. Soccer (real football) has always been a huge part of my life. I started playing as soon as they would let me (5) and didn’t look back until the end of my college days. I even parlayed on a co-ed team, The Gossip Goals (we played on Monday nights), here in NYC for a few years until injuries took over. So watching Team USA’s sweaty, elated hugs brought back some happy memories. Plus, they received their purple-ribboned medals while sporting black warm-ups, which is obviously the best team color combo ever created. The record crowd (80, 203!) at Wembley stadium watched quite a contest. I may think Hope Solo is a bit too quick with her twittering and eye makeup application, but there is no denial that she is an awesome keeper. The most creative fan sign goes to a gent who wrote: “forget Han, make me Mr. Solo!” Congrats to these inspirational women on an amazing semi-final win vs. Canada and a well deserved final victory tonight.

Happy Olympic Thursday! What has been your favorite sport to watch?
P.S.- Yes, I’m giving myself permission to post these images of my tv from my I-Phone!
