Ahhh to go back to February 1, 2020. Remember large rooms filled with friends, laughter, music, and clinking cocktail glasses? Cheerful toasts and sweaty fun dance floors with a newly married couple dancing in the center of a cheering circle? Man I miss those.
Last February I had the great honor of photographing Tara and Joe’s wedding party at The Montauk Club in Brooklyn. It had all of these components and more–boss bridal shoes, that GOLD DRESS, the amazing DJ Milk Money, and lots of hot dancing. Tara and I used to work together in NYC historic preservation so it was no surprise that her wedding reception was held in a gorgeous historic building in Park Slope, Brooklyn. The landmark building was created in 1889 for a social club. Its design was inspired by a Palazzo in Venice, and the facade has an exquisite amount of detail. Isn’t this such a beautiful place for a wedding reception?
It was an awesome night, one that seems so hard to believe was just a year ago. T and J, happy wedding party anniversary! Thanks for choosing me to document the night. Until I can again stand on chairs to capture bumping dance floors, I’ll live on through these photos. Cheers!
