Back to the Blog–New York, NY

Hi All,

Happy 2019 +3.5 months! I’ve been quiet here on the blog as work and life have been so busy (I’ve even missed my annual birthday posts for my children- womp womp), and I find myself gravitating to my instagram feed much more to share images. It’s also the time of year when I do all of the un-fun small business things like itemizing all of my taxes so I can give all of my money to NY City and State, and researching new computers as mine is ON. THE. BRINK. It’s was a good five year run though for my Macbook Pro. BUT, I’m determined to post some recent work and new content on here in the coming months.

The fall was a busy one as I photographed some favorite past families and met some wonderful new clients. A few weeks ago, I traveled to Dana Point, CA to attend the amazing and inspiring Click Away Conference. I try to do a conference or a few workshops every year to keep growing and learning as a photographer, so I signed up for a broad range of things, including an awesome business marketing class. I also attended Food Photography with Allison Jacobs, Dreamy Seascapes with Kristen Ryan (I have an ongoing project creating painterly ocean images by playing with shutter speed and movement, so this one was right up my alley), Six Figure Business and Marking with D’Ann Boal, The Toolbox to Beach Photography with Marcie Reif, and I ended the weekend with an awesome session on Expressive Kids (tips and fun tricks to get more out of sessions with little ones!) with Tenley Clark, who had more energy than I’ve ever seen in a grown up before. She was great.

We’re off to Hawaii tomorrow for spring break. It’s only taken me about 455 hours to pack and I’m sure the travel might be…interesting…but, fingers crossed for a mai tai at the end of the tunnel.  I’m hoping to actually take some seascape photos while also chasing around my wild three kids, so wish me luck!
