Turkey Parade–New York, NY

Happy Thanksgiving from the land of the Macy’s Day Parade balloons! When you live in NYC, it’s easy to slip into a routine and go for months without visiting some of our famous museums or attractions. However, when family comes to town, you have no excuse but to do it up!  So, the last jam-packed 24 hours consisted of:
-chowing down on the annual cousin trip to Shake Shack (11:30am to beat the crowds)
-visiting MoMA to see Edward Munch’s The Scream (pastel details are amazing in person)
-observing the largest Polar Bear I’ve ever seen at the Central Park Zoo
-strolling home through gorgeous Central Park while snacking on the required visitor purchase of NYC pretzels and mixed nuts
-attempting to view balloon inflation, but giving up due to WILD crowds
-eating a delicious home cooked meal at our dining room table (this never happens!)
-rising with the sun to grab coffee/bagels and check out the sky high balloons
-finding a sneaky place to pass through an open gate and score the greatest viewing spot only 20 minutes before the start of the parade!

The next 24 hours will hopefully consist of more family time, as well as turkey, wine, and sleep (zzz’s both aided by triptophan and wine).

Here are a few snaps from our adventures…GOBBLE GOBBLE EVERYONE!
